UPDATE
- Witek (U Of Iowa) has been showing the HYDRO-NEXRAD interface to a number of people in the hydrologic
community and the response has been very good. He does this sitting in his office with the other
party at their office and the whole presentation is over the Internet. We have had a number of
requests for user accounts.
- The University of Iowa have been interacting with Steve Delgreco and Brian Nelson at NCDC and are
scheduled for
another meeting. We are talking about what to do in the long term, especially after the NSF
funding ends.
- There are strong interests from CUAHSI. Several groups have pilot observatories and they need
good rainfall estimates of their infrastructure. HYDRO-NEXRAD is an obvious choice for them.
There is one such group on campus at U of Iowa, and we are meeting with Michael Piasecki (Drexel) in
the next few weeks. IDD/LDM plays an important part in getting the data to these groups.
- We have been working closely with David Maidment (UT-Austin and head of CUAHSI-HIS) and his students
working towards creating a meta-data database for use with the CUAHSI long term observatories.
- Working with David Maidment to somehow bring in USGS stream gauge data into the LDM/IDD
