Hi Jim...
The list of fields is made up of those parameters in the file (I
suspect just using the netCDF interfaces to get them), plus any
derived parameters the IDV figures it can compute from those fields;
this latter one could include your own formulas as well. Sometimes
you might find it necessary to "alias" a name from the file to some
well-known name....but maybe that is too much info?
