Re: mail vs. news

Someone mentioned Khoros as an example. I'd like to point out that the
Khoros discussion lists give you three choices for getting the information:

        1. The regular mailing list (as we have now for netCDF)

        2. A daily digestified message

        3. The Usenet newsgroup

I was on Khoros' digestified mailing list for a while and then switched
to the newsgroup, and didn't notice any significant increase in noise.
I think it works, and there is an option for all tastes.
