NetCDF under windows

I have a serious problem building NetCDF under window with a
Microsoft 8.0 compiler.
It is a lot of warnings and it is a problem how to handle
the size of INT. Should it be 16 bits OR 32 bits.

Has anyone dealt with this problem??
