Were you able to build the netcdf f90 interface?   I am using the intel
compilers on OS X 10.7.2 and could build hdf5-1.8.8 with no problem but
have not been able to build the netcdf fortran libraries in either 4.1.3 or
4.2 versions of netcdf.
