CORRECTED TO INDICATE THE NATIONAL HYDROLOGIC ASSESSMENT IS PUBLISHED ON THE INTERNET...NOT THE SCHEDULE FOR THE PRODUCT...AND...IN THE FIRST SENTENCE OF THE SECOND PARAGRAPH OF THE TEXT... TO INDICATE IT IS ISSUED ON A BI-WEEKLY BASIS DURING LATE WINTER AND EARLY SPRING. THE WORDS A AND BASIS WERE INADVERTENTLY DELETED FROM THAT SENTENCE.

THE NATIONAL HYDROLOGIC ASSESSMENT IS AN INTERNET PRODUCT ISSUED ON A BI-WEEKLY BASIS DURING LATE WINTER AND EARLY SPRING. IT PROVIDES A MAP OF AREAS AT RISK FOR FLOODING...PRIMARILY DUE TO SNOW MELT. ACCOMPANYING TEXT DESCRIBES FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO THE FLOOD RISK. THE ANALYSIS IS BASED ON INFORMATION AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET FROM NWS OFFICES AND OTHER FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES.

THE PROPOSAL IS TO ISSUE THE NATIONAL HYDROLOGIC ASSESSMENT ONCE IN MID-MARCH TO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT NOAA'S ANNUAL SPRING OUTLOOK. AT OTHER TIMES USERS CAN OBTAIN DETAILED INFORMATION FROM THE SOURCES LISTED BELOW OR FROM LOCAL NWS OFFICES.
