NOTE: The nws-changes mailing list is no longer active. The list archives are made available for historical reasons.

The Southern Region Headquarters is planning an upgrade to their
electrical power transformer and uninterrupted power supply (UPS). The transfer is scheduled for Wednesday,
October 10, 2007 and is weather dependent.
Beginning Tuesday, October 9, 2007 @ 1200 CDT, SRH will be redirecting our
internet services (www.srh.noaa.gov <http://www.srh.noaa.gov> -
www.srh.weather.gov <http://www.srh.weather.gov>) to the fail over service
(limited pages) and will remain in this mode until the power transfer is
complete on Wednesday. IT personnel will begin the shutdown process on *_all
IT SRH services_* (internal web, FX-NET, email, IV-ROCS, IM, AWIPS, etc.)
Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 0600 CDT and the systems will remain down
until the power transfer is complete.

System operations are expected to be at full capacity by 1100 CDT on
Wednesday, October 10, 2007. Our goal is to make this change over as swift
and painless as possible and we do apologize for any inconvenience this may
cause.
