         THE TABULAR PRODUCT EVOLUTION IN EXTENSIBLE MARKUP
         LANGUAGE /TPEX/ PRODUCTS EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 9 2008

EFFECTIVE TUESDAY DECEMBER 9 2008...NWS WILL BEGIN OPERATIONAL
PRODUCTION AND DISSEMINATION OF THE SUITE OF TABULAR PRODUCT
EVOLUTION IN EXTENSIBLE MARKUP LANGUAGE /TPEX/ PRODUCTS. THESE
PRODUCTS HAVE BEEN PRODUCED AND DISSEMINATED EXPERIMENTALLY
SINCE SEPTEMBER 12 2007.

FOUR EXTENSIBLE MARKUP LANGUAGE /XML/ PRODUCTS ARE BEING ISSUED:
 -TWO FORECASTS IN XML /FOX3 AND FOX7/ PRODUCTS
 -ONE OBSERVATIONS IN XML /OBX/ PRODUCT
 -ONE TEMPERATURE EXTREMES IN XML /TEX/ PRODUCT

USERS OF THESE PRODUCTS MUST USE THE ABOVE COMMUNICATION
IDENTIFIERS TO ACCESS THESE PRODUCTS.

FOX3 IS ISSUED HOURLY AND CONTAINS FORECASTS OF WEATHER AND
HIGH/LOW TEMPERATURES FOR DAYS 1-3 FOR THE SAME STATIONS AND
CITIES AS IN THE SELECTED CITIES SUMMARY /SCS/ PRODUCTS.

FOX7 ALSO IS ISSUED HOURLY AND CONTAINS FORECASTS OF WEATHER AND
HIGH/LOW TEMPERATURES FOR DAYS 1-7 FOR THE SAME STATIONS AND
CITIES AS IN THE SCS PRODUCTS. THE FOX7 PROVIDES MORE
INFORMATION THAN THE FOX3 AND COULD BE USED AS A TOOL FOR
ADVANCED PLANNING NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN THE CURRENT TEXT PRODUCT
SUITE.

THE OBX...AGAIN ISSUED HOURLY...CONTAINS OBSERVED
MAXIMUM/MINIMUM TEMPERATURES AND OBSERVED PRECIPITATION FOR THE
SAME STATIONS AND CITIES AS IN THE SCS PRODUCTS. AT THE
APPROPRIATE TIMES OF DAY...THE OBX CONTAINS HIGH AND LOW
TEMPERATURES THROUGH THE CURRENT HOUR IN ADDITION TO THE HIGH
AND LOW TEMPERATURES FOR THE MOST RECENT COMPLETE DAY/NIGHT
PERIODS.

THE TEX PRODUCT...ISSUED FOUR TIMES A DAY AROUND 0050...0650...
1250 AND 1850 COORDINATED UNIVERSAL TIME /UTC/...CONTAINS THE
NATIONAL HIGH/LOW TEMPERATURES OBSERVED IN THE CONTERMINOUS
UNITED STATES USING THE SAME CRITERIA CURRENTLY USED IN THE SCS.

THE FOX3...OBX AND TEX XML PRODUCTS ARE ISSUED TO NWS PARTNERS
AND USERS VIA THE ADVANCED WEATHER INTERACTIVE PROCESSING SYSTEM
/AWIPS/ SATELLITE BROADCAST NETWORK /SBN/. THE FOX7 XML
PRODUCT...INTENDED FOR MORE ADVANCED PARTNERS AND USERS...IS
AVAILABLE VIA THE TELECOMMUNICATION OPERATIONS CENTER /TOC/ FILE
TRANSFER PROTOCOL /FTP/ SERVER.
