HAZARDS/BENEFITS ASSESSMENT WILL BE BECOME OFFICIAL. IT WILL CONTINUE TO BE ISSUED BY THE NWS CLIMATE PREDICTION CENTER /CPC/ EACH MONDAY AT 400 PM EST /OR 2100 UTC/ ON THE WEB AT /USE LOWERCASE EXCEPT CW/:

THROUGH NOVEMBER 3 2008 ON THE EXPERIMENTAL ISSUANCES. THE
COMMENTS WERE CONSIDERED IN THE FINAL PRODUCT DESIGN FOR UPCOMING
OFFICIAL ISSUANCES. COMMENTS WILL CONTINUE TO BE ACCEPTED FROM
THE WEBSITE SHOWN BELOW AND WILL BE CONSIDERED IN PERIODIC

THE GLOBAL TROPICS HAZARDS/BENEFITS ASSESSMENT WILL PROVIDE AN
OUTLOOK FOR TWO COMPONENTS DURING THE UPCOMING WEEK 1 AND WEEK 2
PERIOD:

 - AREAS EXPECTING EXTENSIVE AND PERSISTENT ENHANCED/
   SUPPRESSED RAINFALL

 - REGIONS WHERE CONDITIONS ARE ESPECIALLY FAVORABLE/
   UNFAVORABLE FOR TROPICAL CYCLOGENESIS

THE PRODUCT WILL EMPHASIZE IMPACTS ACROSS THE GLOBAL TROPICS
ONLY. IT WILL SERVE AS AN ADDITIONAL RESOURCE FOR NWS FORECASTERS
MONITORING TROPICAL CONVECTION AND TROPICAL CYCLONE POTENTIAL AND
FOR THOSE WITH SOCIO-ECONOMIC INTERESTS IN THESE AREAS.

THE WEBSITE CONTAINS A TABLE OF TWO IMAGES FOR WEEK 1 AND WEEK 2
OUTLOOKS. EACH IMAGE ILLUSTRATES NUMBERED TROPICAL HAZARDS AND
BENEFITS WITH A TEXT DESCRIPTION BELOW THE MAP EXPLAINING THE
NATURE AND RATIONALE FOR THE HIGHLIGHTED REGION. IMAGES CAN BE
MADE LARGER BY CLICKING ON THE HEADING LABELS.

THE ENTIRE PRODUCT /BOTH MAPS AND COVER PAGE IN PDF FORMAT/ AS
WELL AS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION RELATED TO THE PHYSICAL BASIS AND
RATIONALE FOR THE OUTLOOKS IS AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE.
