Details/Specifics of Change:
EUMETSAT announced a planned outage of GOME-2 data in order to install a
software patch. Later today we will be installing a check to stop the
flow of the data whenever EUMETSAT flags it as degraded, which will
happen during this planned outage on Mar 3-4. For several orbits prior
to the outage, we expect some lost data over the equatorial regions. This data is also being flagged as degraded, but that problem is
expected to be fixed as part of the software patch. EUMETSAT warns that
the outage may last a little longer than planned if they are unable to
complete their recalibration during the planned window. -- Donna P. McNamara Physical Scientist NOAA/NESDIS/OSDPD/SSD/PIB 5200 Auth Rd., Rm 510 Camp Springs MD 20746 Phone: (301)763-8142x145 Fax: (301)899-9196
