         FORECASTS EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1 2009

EFFECTIVE TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 1 2009...THE HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL
PREDICTION CENTER /HPC/ OF THE NATIONAL CENTERS FOR
ENVIRONMENTAL PREDICTION /NCEP/ WILL BEGIN OPERATIONAL
PRODUCTION AND DISSEMINATION OF THE ALASKA MEDIUM RANGE FORECAST
DISCUSSION AND THE ALASKA MEDIUM RANGE MEAN SEA LEVEL PRESSURE
/MSLP/ GRAPHIC FORECASTS.  THESE PRODUCTS HAVE BEEN PRODUCED AND
DISSEMINATED EXPERIMENTALLY SINCE JANUARY 2008.  THE ONLY CHANGE
BEING MADE ON SEPTEMBER 1 2009 IS THE ADMINISTRATIVE TRANSITION
OF THESE PRODUCTS FROM EXPERIMENTAL TO OPERATIONAL STATUS.
