SUBJECT: Corrected: Implementation of Improved Fire and Public
         Weather Coverage for Southwest Louisiana Effective
         December 15, 2011

Corrected to remove the Watch County Notification (WCN) product
from the list of affected products

The WCN product is a UGC "C" coded product, not a UGC "Z" coded
product, and is not affected by this change.

Effective Thursday, December 15, 2011, at 1200 pm Central
Standard Time, 1800 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), the
NWS Weather Forecast Office (WFO) in Lake Charles (LCH), LA,
will reconfigure its fire and public weather forecast zone for
Cameron (LAZ051) Parish in southwest Louisiana.

This reconfiguration will provide better forecast services by
splitting this parish into separate western and eastern fire and
public weather forecast zones due to the large meteorological,
climatological, and geographical differences from west to east.

The fire and public weather forecast zone for Cameron (LAZ051)
Parish will be split to form West Cameron (LAZ073) and East
Cameron (LAZ074). This split will account for tropical cyclone,
fire weather, and winter weather impacts that only affect one
portion of this parish and not the other.

These changes require partners and users to take appropriate
action to receive the new zone products using the Universal
Generic Code (UGC) zone code format (Z) listed in Table 1.
