Re: [thredds] Fwd: Release Announcement: CPU11_01 Java SE Critical Patch Update

hi roy, kyle:

it looks like an old version may have crept into the release, that turned on a spurious debug message. we will get a fix out today i hope.

im very interested in how 4.2.x handles aggregation, please keep me posted.

thanks!

Okay it appears to have something to do with building the aggregations. On a clean start
up, it went through every file and then stopped, at least for awhile. The problem is we
have hundreds of thousands of files (yes this is correct two of our datasets alone are
over 20.000 files), and catalina.out grows to be a very large size. I assume there must
be a way to suppress writing this, but I don't know how. Up to these changes, our
catlaina.out over even over a month from a "ls -l" was about 3400 or so , now
in a few hours it is many (with the emphasis on many) orders of magnitude larger.

We did this update. Do to some other problems, I noticed our
catalina.out was huge. We got expressions like:
regexp .*\.nc$ on regexp .*\.nc$ on
/u00/satellite/cwtest2/aqua/modis/mercator/chlora/D1/MODSCW_P2009106_C3
_1755_1930_1935_GM05_closest_chlor
a.nc match=true

that are filling up our catalina.out . No other changes were made.
Even switching back to out old java does not seem to correct this.
Any ideas of what is going on?

any chance theres a classpath problem, eg a spurious netcdf.jar from an
old version ?
