[thredds] Updating an aggregation that is done through an ncml file

Hi All:

We are trying to aggregate some HDF4 files by using an .ncml file in the data
directory that does all the dirty work of properly adding dimensions and
aggregating the files, and then pointing to that file in the base catalog.xml.

So far, I have only been able to get this to work if I use a /datascan element,
and filter for *.ncml. Is there a better or preferred way to do this?

One reason for wanting this setup, is so we can update the aggregation info
(we are listing all of files in the .ncml file) as new files are added, without
having to restart the tomcat. I have never totally understood how the scour
and maxAge times in the threddsConfig file work, but when I change the .ncml
file to add a new dataset, and have my scour at 5 minutes, I still do not see
the change. If I do a restart I see the change. This is even if I do several
access of the dataset. Any help on how things should be set so that the update
occurs in some reasonable timeframe would be appreciated.

Thanks,

-Roy M.
