The AJP connector does not support some of the attributes as the HTTP
connector (e.g., compression, compressableMimeType), so that functionality
will have to be handled by apache. The Tomcat connector documentation
referenced in our proxy information (url below), lists the attributes for
each connector element. If no special functionality is needed, I would
think the default ajp connector settings would be fine.
And if I understand his last question correctly: yes, it is fine to just
run the ajp connector and not the http connector if you want only port 80
access to tomcat.
