IDV Local Datasets
Installing local datasets for the workshop
materials
The IDV can access data stored on remote servers and the workshop
materials try to take advantage of that where possible. Some data
types (e.g., Level II Radar data) can only be loaded from local
or network mounted files.
For those exercises that require data on a local or
network drive, you will need to first install the data.
- Download the workshop data from:
https://downloads.unidata.ucar.edu/idv/sample_data/workshopdata.zip
- Once you have downloaded this file, unzip it on a drive/directory
that will be accessible by the IDV.
- For those sections of the workshop materials that ask you to
load data from
/data/idv,
substitute the drive/directory where you unzipped the file.
