Dan,

>I am currently using the UNIWISC feed to get satellite data via the
>LDM. I see that data is updated hourly,

The UNIWISC images are updated half-hourly. If you are not receiving
all of the images, it may be that the request line for the UNIWISC
products in your ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf is not requesting everything, or
that the upstream host that you are getting the UNIWISC feed is not
requesting everything. Finally, if you are receiving all of the
images, there is the possibility that you are not processing all of
them.

>however I was curious if there
>was another feed, or a way using the UNIWISC feed, to have satellite
>data delivered more frequently. I know it's usually updated every 30
>mins, and was curious if these images were available anywhere .

The IDD NIMAGE feed contains all of the GINI images broadcast in
NOAAPORT. The CONUS sectors in that feed are updated every 15 minutes.
If you decide to ingest the NIMAGE feed, you should know that the
volume of data in the feed is large. This can be seen most easily by
looking at plots of the volume of data in the NIMAGE feed:

http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/cgi-bin/rtstats/iddstats_vol_nc?NIMAGE+thelma.ucar.edu

Compare this with the volume in the UNIWISC feed:

http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/cgi-bin/rtstats/iddstats_vol_nc?UNIWISC+thelma.ucar.edu

The plots show that there is 10 times as much data in the NIMAGE feed
as in the UNIWISC feed.

>Thanks,

What is the name of the machine you are ingesting the UNIWISC feed on?
Is it setup to report real time stats back to Unidata? If not, we
would appreciate it if you would set it up to report stats. Thanks
in advance.
