Ning,

I see the problem you are having is that your dcuair pattern/action
is using the "-e GEMTBL=" flag, which only exists in
GEMPAK 5.6 and later (the tutorial examples have been updated for
the current version of GEMPAK that we provide). If you are using the dcuair
decoder from
GEMPAK 5.4 (as indicated from your GEMTBL path below), then eliminate the
-e flag and just give the complete path to the station and packing files
using the -s and -p flags, eg:

DDS|IDS ^U[ABDEFGHIJKLMPQRSTXZ].... .... ([0-3][0-9])([0-2][0-9])
        PIPE decoders/dcuair -b 24 -m 16
        -d data/gempak/logs/dcuair.log
        -s /usr/people/gempak/nawips-5.4/gempak5.4/tables/stns/snworld.tbl
        -p /usr/people/gempak/nawips-5.4/gempak5.4/tables/pack/snmerg.pack
        data/gempak/upperair/YYYYMMDD_upa.gem
#

NLDN ^.*
        PIPE decoders/dcnldn -m 25000 -b 30 -s minute05
        -d data/gempak/logs/dcnldn.log
        -p /usr/people/gempak/nawips-5.4/gempak5.4/tables/pack/nldn.pack
        data/gempak/nldn/YYYYMMDDHHNN_nldn.gem
