20020320: Gempak



Robert,

Looks like your window manager is reserving lots of colors:
   229 shared read-only color cells.
Possibly KDE has flown the way of GNOME in eating all the colors.

Have you tried using TWM or FVWM? 

One solution is to run 2 X servers, so the second can be 8 bits 
with TWM window manager, while the other can have the full benefit of 24 bits
and the ability to use GNOME or whatever your favorite windowing
environment is.
