20040218: trouble installing Gempak

Justin,

You didn't provide any details, or output, so here is
the basic information.

To install GEMPAK from source, you will need to have the
openmotif developers environment and library rpm's installed
as well as g77/gcc.

After downloading and unpacking the source code tar file,
edit the Gemenviron file and define the NAWIPS
environmental variable to the top of the directory
tree (eg, where the Gemenviron file exists).

Then, in your csh environment, "source Gemenviron"
and follow the rest of the build instructions (step 6) at:
http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/gempak/GEMPAK5.6/Install_GEMPAK5.6.html

I provide Linux binary distributions of GEMPAK as well. You will need to
be current on your glibc. The current distribution 5.6.m was
compiled under Fedora core, the previous distribution 5.6.L.1 was built
under RH 7.3. To run the binary distribution, just download
the tar file, unpack and edit the Gemenviron file- then source the Gemenviron
file into your csh environment.
