Michael,

You need to specify the gemlib.a (and probably cgemlib.a libraries), such as:
/home/gempak/GEMPAK5.7.3/lib/linux/gemlib.a 
/home/gempak/GEMPAK5.7.3/lib/linux/cgemlib.a
