20041108: UNCA student



Erik,

If you can run Linux, such as Fedora Core from RedHat, then 
a binary release is available. Instructions for installing
GEMPAK can be found here:
http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/gempak/GEMPAK5.7/Install_GEMPAK5.7.html

Of couse, you would still have to get data for the package. 

Your options would either be running Linux as a boot option on your
PC, or by obtaining a package such as vmware to run Linux applications.

At this time, running under Cygwin is still under investigation as the
message queue (cygipcs) system is slow in my tests.
