RE: Vertical GUI programs in Garp crashing



Nancy,

I did the GEMPAK install on gojira. Are the plotting problems
you are having on gojira? Your message mentioned you saw the
problems before the upgrade. Run the "dpyinfo"
command wherever you are having the trouble, and send the output 
to me.

The most likely causes of trouble, if the machine experiencing 
the trouble is the one I upgraded, and it was occuring before
the upgrade would be:
- X server trouble
- not enough memory
- system library problems

One thing to check is that you don't have a bunch of
gplt and/or ipcs running from old sessions. If you
have orphaned gplt processes, that could be effecting your
available memory.

After that, it would be good to upgrade the GEMPAK distribution
on Mothra so that the GEMPAK decoders there are up to
date.
