Re: 20041211: decoder

Dear Steve:

Thanks. I hadn't yet found the gempak email archive when I sent the request, but now I have and understand your suggestion below based on some recent exchanges.

Cheers,
Jeff

Jeff,

Dcuair is used to decode soundings that are in the WMO
format used in broadcasting the various parts of sounding
data (eg TTAA, PPAA, etc. ). Since your data is not in that format,
dcuair won't understand it.

Your best avenue would be to create a program that modifies your
format to the format created by SNLIST, since that format can be
imported into GEMPAK files using SNEDIT.

Greetings.

This is probably an easy one, but I couldn't easily find an answer:

I'm trying to convert an NWS sounding in CLASS-format sounding (see
below) to a gempak format sounding so that I can view & manipulate it
using nsharp. As best I can find, I should use dcuair? I tried the
suggested command, but no apparent success.

Sorry - I've been out of the gempak loop for many years.

Thanks,
Jeff trapp
