Re: dcwarn decoder - VTEC?

Steve,

I've also noticed that there is not currently a "dc" decoder for special
marine warnings. I'm willing to write a decoder if you could tell me
the essentials of what needs to be done.

Once SMW's are decoded, would the next step be to modify the gpmap
application to display SMWs in addition to SVR.TOR, and FFW?

Thanks!

Steve,

Thank you for helping me get the dcwarn decoder working at HGX! I've
noticed that the current version of dcwarn does not decode VTEC. Are
there plans to incorporate VTEC in to a future version of dcwarn, or
does such a version exist at the National Centers? I suspect that many
Gempak users would find it useful to be able to track warings by their
event codes. Among other things, VTEC makes it much simpler to tie SVS
products to the parent warning.

Thank you!
