[GEMPAK #BQG-799346]: GEMPLT -83 Error Question

Phil,

You have to set the DISPLAY variable and run the command as the user that owns 
the console.
If you logged in to the console as another user, you have to run the command as 
that user.
If you loggen in as ldm, you just have to set the DISPLAY environmental variable
in your environment.

Again, you have to provide the command with the appropriate command line
arguments. This is a system dependent X command (eg not part of GEMPAK,
so your setup may be differen, but a general form looks like:
Xvfb :1 -screen 0 1280x1024x24 -shmem &

The above sets up a 1280x1024 display as hostname:1.0 with 24 bit depth.
