[GEMPAK #LUO-186597]: GemPak dbiint fault

Pete,

I do not fully understand what your input files are, you say wave watch, does
that mean you are interpolating the wave watch grid (NOAA wave watch? FNMOC
wave watch? global or regional grid?) to the global CMC grids (1500x751)?

I am able to do the following:

1) decode from grib to gempak:

dcgrib2 cmc.gem < CMC_glb_TMP_ISBL_1000_latlon.24x.24_2014033112_P012.grib2

2) confirm cmc.gem grid size with GDINFO

 GRID FILE: cmc.gem

 GRID NAVIGATION:
     PROJECTION:          CED
     ANGLES:                 0.0     0.0     0.0
     GRID SIZE:         1500 751
     LL CORNER:             -90.00    180.00
     UR CORNER:              90.00    179.76

3) use cmc.gem as CPYFIL in GDCFIL:

 GDOUTF   = output.gem
 PROJ     =
 GRDAREA  =
 KXKY     =
 MAXGRD   =  5000
 CPYFIL   = cmc.gem
 ANLYSS   = 4/2;2;2;2

4) confirm grid size of output.gem with GDINFO

 GRID FILE: output.gem

 GRID NAVIGATION:
     PROJECTION:          CED
     ANGLES:                 0.0     0.0     0.0
     GRID SIZE:         1500 751
     LL CORNER:             -90.00    180.00
     UR CORNER:              90.00    179.76

5) run GDBIINT to interpolate the nam 12km grid (614 x 428) to the CMC grid
(1500 x 751)

 GRID FILE: /data/ldm/gempak/model/nam12km/2014040218f000_nam218.gem

 GRID NAVIGATION:
     PROJECTION:          LCC
     ANGLES:                25.0   -95.0    25.0
     GRID SIZE:          614 428
     LL CORNER:              12.19   -133.46
     UR CORNER:              57.33    -49.42

GDBIINT:

 GDFILE   = nam
 GDOUTF   = output.gem
 GFUNC    = tmpk
 GLEVEL   = 2
 GVCORD   = hght
 GDATTIM  = f006
 GDNUM    =
 GEMPAK-GDBIINT>r
  Building interpolation array for 1500 columns 751 rows

 Interpolating TMPK    140402/1200F006                      2    -1 HGHT

6) check again with GDINFO

 GDFILE   = output.gem
 LSTALL   = YES
 OUTPUT   = T
 GDATTIM  = f006
 GLEVEL   = 2
 GVCORD   = hght
 GFUNC    = tmpk
 GEMPAK-GDINFO>r

 GRID FILE: output.gem

This is an example of having everything work as intended. If I use the GFSHD,
nam242 or some other models, GDBIINT doesn't seem to work. I do not get a
segmentation fault but some times I get an file open error. I will have to
look at GDBIINT more closely and see if it needs updating. Until then I'm
afraid I'm out of answers.
