[GEMPAK #FVT-855718]: transparent lat-lon labels in gempak map image

Hi Jason,

This is an interesting issue and my first thoughts is that it is related to the 
selected device driver.  I am able to produce PS and GIF graphics with 
"transparent" background for the lat-lon labels.  If you could tell me in as 
much detail as possible what device driver and GEMPAK program parameters you 
are using, I can try to isolate the reason you're seeing these artifacts.
