[IDV #SSS-119764]: display of cross section for a grid of 273x273x81

This might have already been answered but...
There was a lockup problem with the mac that is fixed now. Get the latest 
nightly build at:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/idv/nightly/index.jsp

Also, in the recent versions of the IDV there is a web based monitor service 
that you can use
to retrieve a stack trace and send it in to us. Just hit the url: 
http://localhost:8788
