19990422: LDM 5.0.6

The error messages from pqact below indicate that a decoder or
some other process that pqact is executing based on data arrival is failing.
This could be because tables that the decoder needs, or paths that
are being used are non-existant, or unreadable.

Given the frequency of the messages, it is likely a data source such as
surface observations that comes in frequently.

The best way to locate what the source of the error messages is, is to
run pqact in verbose, or debug mode to see what products are causing the e
rror messages, or to verbosely log decoder output to cross match the process ID 
with the pqact log messages.

To place pqact in verbose, or debug mode, issue a "kill -USR2 processid"
using the processID of the running pqact process. The first issuance of
the kill line causes the program to go into verbose mode. The second
will go into debug mode. A third issuance will go back to quite logging.

Check the ldmd.log file for what product is preceeding the error messages.
Once you know what product is causing the error, check the pqact.conf
file for actions that would be executed. For example, if the bulletin
was an SAUS80, thena  possible decoder wction ould be metar2nc.
Check files required by the decoder, such as station tables, perl location,
udunits path etc. Also check to verify the output directory exists
and is writable.
