I don't think it's going to run, most releases are not backward
compatible. You will probably have to build from src. You will need a
posix make or the ar ( library builder ) will not work.

Side step the perl, execute pqcreate from the command line from ldm home,
ie.

% bin/pqcreate -q data/ldm/pq -s 100000000

If this works then there is something wrong your version of perl.
