In case you have an hour's worth of data already in the old queue that
hasn't yet been sent to a downstream site (maybe it went down 45
minutes ago and is about to come back up), you would avoid data loss
to the downstream site by keeping the old queue in case you had to
switch back to using 5.0.9.  Admittedly this is a pretty unlikely
sequence of events, so if you don't have the space to keep the old
queue, you can just recreate it if needed ...
