Tom,

This option doesn't actually use the old queue format, but does wait
to allocate the entire queue.. I was confused on that at first,
thinking that it would create an ldm 5.0 format queue.

But, using the -f option does NOT prevent the problem, it still
dumps core.

That did give me an idea though, and that is, I tried pqcreate
from ldm version 5.0.11 which I still had lying around, and it
made a queue no problem.

So, apparently there is something bizzare about the way the
queue is being made in 5.1.2 that doesn't agree with something
that happened on my box on or about Friday, because prior to that
it worked fine, and I haven't changed anything about the machine,
the ldm, or anything that I know of.

About the only things I have not tried are rebuilding the kernel
(not linux, this is IRIX) or else a complete OS reinstall, which
is a last resort.

I could go back to ldm-5.0.11 and see if that runs for a while..

Very strange..

Russ, Steve, or Robb, any ideas based on the dbx output I sent?

I'd be happy to get you on to my machine if you care to play
with it at all.

Thanks,

Pete
