I have several Questions with a new ldm install on a Sparc 20/Solaris 8

Preinstallation checklist went OK.
LDM verision 5.1.2 downloaded and installed.

Question on: Run the scriptconfig script
What is this? Do you have the procedure?

Hi James,

I presume you're doing a binary installation and following the instructions at http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/packages/ldm/ldmBinaryInstallList.html#s5, is that right?

scriptconfig is an executable in the bin directory of, in your case, ~ldm/ldm-5.1.2.  The instructions are trying to tell you to cd to ~ldm/ldm-5.1.2/bin and execute 'scriptconfig'.  This will configure other scripts for your particular site.

Question:
Starting LDM
What is create the queue?

The LDM uses a data structure called a product queue to store products as they arrive at your site.  From there products can be filed, or piped to another process such as a decoder, or relayed to another site.

But, first you have to actually create a product queue.  To do this do 'ldmadmin mkqueue'.  This is also listed in the instruction page.  Be sure you've done the other instructions between "Run the scriptconfig script" and "Create the queue" thought, otherwise it won't work.
