ldm simulation

Scott,

Look at pqinsert(1), which comes with the distribution. Let me know if
you need something different.

Subject: ldm simulation

Hello Mr. Emmerson,

I have a question about LDM. Is there a mechanism/module for LDM that
would allow me to inject test data into ldm such that this data will be
feed to downstream ldm clients. I'm not exactly sure at this point what
form the data will take. It may be netcdf or raw level II data but could
be anything since it will be simulated data and used only for testing.

If possible, I'd like to inject older data from files on the ldm server
and resend that data over and over again, modifying timestamps or header
information if necessary. Another possibility would be that a module,
similar to a decoder, would injects some sort of fake data into the queue
at regular intervals.

If such a mechanism/module has not been created then I'd like to write it
and would be very grateful for any advise or guidance you could provide.

I'll be using this functionality to perform tests and aid in debugging and
performance tuning for several project here at CAPS.

Thanks,
Scott Hill
