Benchmark it against the previous version. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

On a Red Had derived system:
    cat /proc/sys/net/core/rmem_default
    cat /prod/sys/net/core/rmem_max

Pro: Likely far fewer "Gap" messages about missing NOAAPort frames in
noaaportIngester(1)'s log file.
Con: Less  memory available for other things. (How much you got?)
