Oops, it turns out that I (as 'mcidas') could change both the group
and read/write/execute permissions on /home/mcidas. I did so, and
now I can successfully exercise the McIDAS-X ADDE remote server
from ftb2.kc.noaa.gov. Your suspicions that I would not be able
to access this machine from outside your network are correct; I can't
(but, then again, I don't need to).
