re: access to your machine

I am not sure what you need from me for this access.  I want to login
to your machine as the user 'mcidas' using ssh.  To do this, I
typically need your full machine name and the password for 'mcidas'.
Since setting up XCD decoding involves work with the LDM also,
I need the password for 'ldm'.  My objectives would be to:

o check your LDM installation
o update ldm-mcidas decoders if needed
o check your ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf and ~ldm/etc/pqact.conf entries that are
  related to XCD
o check your setup in the 'mcidas' account related to setup of XCD
  decoding and data file access
o verify that the ADDE remote server is correctly setup; since this
  is typically done in the 'mcidas' account, access as 'mcidas' should
  be sufficient _if_ the remote server has been installed previously
  (that installation step is done as 'root')
