Hi Paul,

There are no map files of this type in McIDAS at the moment. If
you can find a source for this data, please let me know and I will
try to bring them into McIDAS. I am also looking for a source of
"state" boundaries for Central and South American countries.

In BATCH, IF branches can only go down in the file. If you need a
construct that supports looping (like an IF that goes towards the
beginning of the file), you need to use McBASI or a Unix shell
script and run McIDAS commands from there.

>Lastly, when is the next user workshop? I want to come out for sure!

The next series of workshops are scheduled to be held at the end of
October/beginning of November.

While I we are talking, I would like to convince you to upgrade all COD
machines to the latest release of the LDM-6. The performance that LDM-6
offers is a major step up from LDM-5, so it is in users self interest
to upgrade. We are more than willing to do the installation and tuning
if we are given the appropriate login information ('ldm' and 'root'
or sudo for 'root' functions). The case of COD is especially of interest
to me since you are running Debian Linux, and I seem to remember that
there was an issue with syslog logging that we never really resolved
in past. Please let me know if you are in a position to get your systems
upgraded. Thanks in advance...

Tom
