[McIDAS #TVR-927190]: GOES-16 ADDE Data Access

Hi Fred,

re:
> What is the status of the ADDE access to GOES-16 data?

I am hesitant to give ADDE access to end users given NOAA's continued stance
that
GOES-16 data is not operational.

re:
> I was expecting an announcement of the data availability. Did I miss it or
> is it coming
> out soon?

It will be fully available when NOAA declares that the imagery is ready for
prime
time.

re:
> Is there any preliminary access to GOES-16 data that can be used to check out

> software before the November operational date of GOES-16?

Yes, if you agree that you will not be publishing the images and basing decision
on it.

Here again is the comment NOAA continues to make wrt GOES-16 imagery and
products:

"Note: NOAA's GOES-16 satellite has not been declared operational and its data
are
preliminary and undergoing testing. Users receiving these data through any
dissemination
means (including, but not limited to, PDA and GRB) assume all risk related to
their
use of GOES-16 data and NOAA disclaims and any and all warranties, whether
express
or implied, including (without limitation) any implied warranties of
merchantability
or fitness for a particular purpose."

Cheers,

Tom
