sorry, i dont really know what that means so im not sure. NcML is just an XML 
representation of the CDM data model.

CDM / NcML doesnt currently support structure-valued attributes. Might change, 
but Im trying to see if i can get by without it.

its easy enough to allow arbitrary XML inside other XML such as NcML. A DAP 
data response could be extended to allow an XML component. If you mean the 
DDS/DAS, I think going to a (possible revamped) DDX might be better.
