NCAR's Computational Information Systems Laboratory (CISL) is looking for a Director for its Information System Division (ISD). The ISD Director leads approximately 35 staff responsible for data curation and stewardship, software engineering for data access, development of data management and analysis environments, workflow optimization applications, visualization and data analysis applications, data assimilation research and model development, and regional projection model assessment that is a joint effort with the NCAR Research and Applications Laboratory.
The ICD Director builds peer institution relationships in order to share, influence, and gain perspective about expert information systems designed to meet user needs and support multi-disciplinary workflows in geoscience research. Responsibilities include:
- Guiding usage of robust software engineering methods, and directing development of IT infrastructure that enable scalable data curation, evaluation, and data science workflows that meet user expectations for scientific research and services.
- Developing tactical plans and efforts for the ISD that align with and support CISL’s strategic plan.
- Managing the administration and budget for ISD.
