NetCDF 4.3.0

The netCDF development team is happy to announce the availability of the netCDF-C library version 4.3.0.

Highlights of the 4.3.0 release include:

  • Improved DAP support.
  • Improved parallel-netcdf support.
  • Improved Windows support in Cygwin and MSYS-based environments.
  • Improved Integration with CMake, allowing for Microsoft Visual-Studio based builds.
  • Numerous bug fixes.

Pre-built Windows binaries are available from this page.

Users of the netCDF FORTRAN and C++ Libraries Note

You can use the upgraded C library without upgrading your FORTRAN or C++ library.

What's the error R6034 on Win7? I remember it was fine with NetCDF 4.3.0-RC.

Not yet. We have just added support in version 4.3.0 for using the netCDF C library and utilities with Windows Visual Studio, but we're currently working on getting netCDF Fortran to build under Visual Studio as well. We might have some support for this in the next few months.
