The NOAA National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Central Operations (NCO) is looking to hire a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist. The position is in College Park, MD.
Responsibilities will include oversight of all NCO IT systems; the Integrated Dissemination Program (IDP) systems in College Park, MD and Boulder, CO; and supervision of web development and operations teams for NCEP websites and the NWS weather.gov site.
The individual selected for this position will:
- Lead and coordinate improvements of IT system architecture by increasing reliability, efficiency, and processing capability.
- Ensure the integration of IT programs and services with NWS needs, develop solutions to integration and interoperability issues, and prepare and present briefings to senior management officials on complex and controversial issues affecting assigned program areas.
- Supervise and manage IT staff supporting NCEP Central Operations and focusing on IT System architecture and administration.
