Supervisory Physicist, Space Weather Prediction Center

NOAA is searching for a Supervisory Physicist to work at the National Weather Service (NWS), National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) with one vacancy located in Boulder, CO.

The Supervisory Physicist will:

  • Formulate and carry out an exceptionally difficult research or policy analysis program of major importance under general policy guidance, significantly advancing science and technology as well as promoting wide application of program results through publications, presentations, or authoritative reports or analyses.
  • Improve space weather products and services; understand customer requirements; evaluate new products; transition products from research to operations; gain new understanding of space weather and the solar-terrestrial environment.
  • Manage a research group or division as well as plan, develop, and implement vital projects that have operating unit and/or Department-wide scope.
