Kevin Tyle Receives 2017 DeSouza Award
Kevin Tyle of the University at Albany, State University of New York has been awarded the 2017 Russell L. DeSouza Award by the Unidata Users committee. The DeSouza Award honors “individuals whose energy, expertise, and active involvement enable the Unidata Program to better serve the geosciences.”
NetCDF 4.5.0
Version 4.5.0 of the netCDF-C library is now available. The largest focus of this release has been the inclusion of the DAP4 protocol. See the Release Notes for additional information on using DAP4.
2018 Unidata Users Workshop: Save the Date
The Unidata Users Committee invites you to join Unidata staff, community members, and guests for a community workshop to take place in 25-29 June 2018 in Boulder, Colorado.
This will be the Unidata community's sixth triennial workshop. The Unidata Users Committee is currently planning the 2018 event, but we encourage community members to save the date.

Governing Committee News
Unidata's Users Committee met 16-17 October 2017, in Boulder, Colorado. This was a joint meeting with the Strategic Advisory Committee. The meeting summary will be available shortly. The next meeting is scheduled for 4-5 April 2018 in Boulder, CO.
