October 2011 Governing Committee Meetings
Members of Unidata's two governing committees gathered in Boulder in late October 2011 for a joint meeting to share information and ideas between the committees and with Unidata Program Center staff.

Farewell to Ed Hartnett
The Unidata Program Center wishes a fond farewell to Ed Hartnett, who has left Unidata for a position at the University of Colorado's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP).
November 2011 Status Update: NAWIPS Migration to AWIPS II

NCAR's next supercomputer: Yellowstone
The Unidata Seminar Series presented a talk by David Hart of NCAR/CISL titled NCAR's Data-Centric Supercomputing Environment: Yellowstone. Hart described the supercomputer being installed in NCAR's new supercomputing center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. A recording of the talk is available.

NUJAN NetCDF Writer Library 1.4.1
The UCAR Research Applications Laboratory (RAL) has released Nujan version 1.4.1. Nujan is a pure Java writer for HDF5 and NetCDF4 files. Nujan is 100% open source and is released under the MIT license.

The Integrated Data Viewer (IDV) version 3.0 update version 1 is now available.
