24.1 Goals of LibCF

LibCF is being developed to help climate scientists share their data.

The goals of the LibCF project:

Make using CF Convetions easier for readers and writers of data.
Reduce duplication of effort in I/O code in user applications.
Ensure CF conforming files.
Provide a geo-science API for netCDF.
Provide some of the advanced features developed for netCDF-Java.
Work with both netCDF-3 and netCDF-4/HDF5 files.
