Fw: (#OAB-0631548) Missing GOES Tile

Thanks for the response. This of course is the new edex / cave beta.

It appears its more random than the day I submitted that. Its CONUS and FULL-DISK that are affected. NoaaportIngester does not show any errors etc when logging is run. LDM has a 24gb ramdisk. Files are going to an SSD. The FD shows only the CONUS northern hemisphere. Also when doing fild->export to save the images, it fails saying the "file format is invalid". Forced to gif, no luck. It tries to save it as jpg, and that also fails. So these are windows snipping tool saves.  The full disk affects all bands, the CONUS is randomly missing tiles. Again mostly the larger products such as band2.   Thanks, Ray

Hello,

I received your recent submission to our google form:

seems the exact same tile is always missing on the goes images. Also appears to be clipping the full disk to CONUS area. Couldn't locate the cliipping directory that used to allow mrms etc to be clipped to a local area etc. Has that been removed? Otherwise, seems there is an issue with GOES. Always the texas tile thats missing. No errors on noaaportIngester etc. Thanks!

Couple questions for you:

  • What product are you loading that you are seeing the missing tile/clipped data? GOES E/W? Derived product or single channel?
  • Can you provide an image of the data with the issue?
  • Are you seeing this missing tile when connecting to your own EDEX or Unidata's EDEX?

GOES data does not have the ability to be clipped like gridded data. Offices can request a subset of tiles if they only want small region of data to be plotted.  Additionally, for gridded data, the clipped directory has been removed since we don't clip any gridded data in Unidata's release.

Thanks,

Tiffany Meyer
