Hi Jeff & Robb,
Much appreciated, thanks!
I actually do have access to (most of) Météo France's tables. Once I get a
chance to compile them properly, I'll see if I can do something about sending
them back to you.
I reckon the fws tables stand for "French Weather Service" or is "Frog Weather
Service"? haha ;-)
Anyhow, there is a problematic issue that I need to raise since I only became
aware of it recently: MF apparently compresses their GRIB1 files with some
algorithm, home-made.
I have the decompressing algorithm in a program but I am not sure whether I am
at liberty to disclose it for now... I wouldn't want to shoot myself in the
foot on this one.
First I shall test those GRIBs in GRIBJava & if need be, I can enquire about it
and should I get a positive answer, disclose the small utility that
decompresses them on the fly.
Many thanks,
Remi

Jeff,
I wrote him a response, but I can't find which archive it was sent too.
So I'll redo.
Remi,
on the http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/decoders/ page, there is a
reference to a Java-Grib package. I would download the package and in the
directory resources/resources/grib/tables there is a file called
tablelookup.lst the has center subcenter version and table name. I believe
this is the information that you are looking for. I you have access to tables
that we are missing, I would be interested in getting the tables.
Thanks,
RObb...

Subject: [idvusers] Local Grib Tables
Dear IDV users,
As a newcomer to IDV, I'm interested in ingesting any kind of GRIB files from
any
center. I am aware of the possibility of adding full description of local
tables
but I am unable to locate these tables for most centers.
Has anyone compiled an exhaustive list of tables for various national weather
centers in the world?
Thanks!
